Jenny and James’s Deer Mountain Inn wedding in the Catskill Mountains was one of the most creative, free-spirited, and emotional I’ve been to. They’re both artists, so there were lots of little projects and details they created themselves (Jenny designed her own dress and earrings). Their ceremony was up in the mountains, and the rain that was forecast for the day held out all the way until the evening. Note to anyone getting married atop a mountain: providing umbrellas for your guests is a fantastic idea. It feels like the sun is like three feet away when you’re up that high. Deer Mountain Inn is such a stunning Hudson Valley wedding venue.
Hand-feeding their guests cake at the end of the night was probably my favorite part… or the chicken fingers that Deer Mountain Inn put out around midnight.
