I’ve been so lucky to get to know Amy and Chris, from the first time we met for coffee over a year ago. They’re the most genuinely good-hearted people you could ever meet, just very gentle and always wanting to make you feel comfortable. Their respect and admiration for each other absolutely oozes out at all times (oozes, I tell you!) in the most natural, low-key way. We incorporated books into their engagement session, so I wasn’t really surprised when they filled out their wedding questionnaire and admitted that they “went a little crazy with the Alice in Wonderland details.” Their Hill-Stead Museum wedding was a perfect place to go crazy with those details.
Their wedding had a super calm, introspective feel to it. The Hill-Stead museum is one of those places that feels like home very fast, and it lent itself really well to the kind of day Chris and Amy wanted. I definitely cried a little during the ceremony, especially at Chris’ to-the-point vows basically saying that he wanted to spend as much time with Amy in his life as possible. Also, having a ton of theater people as guests makes for a great dance party. Also, there were a lot of cookies.
