Liz and Roland chose to have a Catskill Mountain House wedding, which is one of the most gorgeous locations I’ve ever been to. It’s at the top of a hill, near Palenville New York. Hudson Valley wedding venues are my favorite, not only because of the amazing scenery, but because of the dramatically changing weather patterns. The weather was crazy that day, alternating between blinding sun, clouds, rain, and maybe even a little snow at one point. There’s never a dull moment when you’re a Hudson Valley wedding photographer!
Their story: Liz developed an “inappropriate work crush” on Roland after interviewing him for a position with the program she worked for (they thought they were being rebellious until they learned there was no policy against coworkers dating). After a bunch of Roland’s proposal plans were thwarted by cold weather, rain and hacky-sackers, he finally got a chance to ask, which ended with them both being so excited to call their family and friends that they ended up with a speeding ticket.
We ended up with so many rainbows that by the end everyone was spoiled by them. Even though there were some surprises thrown into the day, Liz and Roland were happy and positive the whole time, and their good energy was infectious.
