An awesome Hudson Valley venue option for people who want an outdoor wedding ceremony
Up in the hills of Tannersville, New York, is one of my favorite outdoor Hudson Valley wedding venues: the Deer Mountain Inn. It’s right in the middle of the Catskills, so if you’ve been looking for a mountain wedding venue, it could be perfect for you.
Venue Highlights
A major plus of having your wedding here is that it has its own bar and restaurant–so you don’t have to worry about bringing in a offsite caterer. And the food is really, really good. My favorite thing they offer is their late-night junk food, like chicken fingers, burgers and fries:
And there’s a fire pit for s’mores!
You can have up to 250 guests depending on which spaces you decide to use (their huge green can accommodate a large tent).
The best part of Deer Mountain Inn is probably the ceremony site options. My favorite is at the top of the hill, with crazy views of the mountains. They’ll bring your guests up in a shuttle to make things super easy. And their on-site planner, Jenny, is awesome.

Cool Stuff in the Area
The other thing I love about the location is that there are tons of Airbnbs and inns for guests to stay in (The Deer Mountain Inn itself also does have a limited number of rooms available). There are lots of fun places to visit, so your guests who are traveling in will have fun stuff to do the next day. A few of my favorite places nearby are:
Twin Peaks Coffee & Donuts
Homemade donuts and coffee! Also has an awesome name :).
Kaaterskill Falls
Gorgeous trails and a beautiful waterfall you can see from the road.
Mama’s Boy Burgers
So good.
And within a half-hour radius are other fun towns like Catskill and Saugerties! So much hiking and little downtown areas with shopping and great food. I recommend just driving around and making a day of antiquing, eating, and enjoying the scenery. If you’re looking for a unique Hudson Valley venue with fun stuff in the area, definitely check the Deer Mountain Inn out.
